Why Choose The Mad Spinner for Skate Spinners and Figure Skating Accessories?
Speed & Control
Our spinners help skaters feel the rotation, not just go through the motion. It’s about building control that lasts, so when you step back on the ice, your movements already feel sharper and you feel more confident .
On-Ice & Off-Ice
You don't need to be at the rink to train like you are. These spinners are designed to keep you spinning no matter where you are, in your living room, on the road in a hotel room, or anywhere else you can find some space to spin and jump.
Trusted by Coaches
Many coaches keep our spinners close during training because they’ve seen the difference. Our passion is making tools that actually help skaters improve and stay consistent over time.
What Is a Spinner?
A skating spinner is a helpful tool that helps skaters work on spin technique, center, and balance without needing to be on the ice. The motion feels familiar enough that your body starts to builds muscle memory, even if you're training in your bedroom.
You’ll find a few different types out there. Some small, some round, some square and some rectangle all are made to be used by the skater, usually as part of a warmup at the rink. Others are lightweight and meant for off-ice practice, sitting easily on carpet or hardwood. A few models are built to challenge your balance in a way that feels surprisingly close to real ice.
If you're short on rink time but still want to keep progressing, a spinner gives you a solid way to keep up with your training. It’s simple, but it works.
How to Choose Your Spinner
Picking the right skating spinner really comes down to how you train and what feels right for your routine. It’s not one-size-fits-all, and a few small differences can change how the spinner performs.
Weight & Size
If you’re working on fine tuning and already have some experience, a smaller spinner like the TMSMicro can mimic the ice, feeling and control. On the other hand, larger ones like the TMS Mini-2.0 are just easy to carry around and are great if you're wanting more foot surface.
On-Ice vs Off-Ice
Some spinners are designed for use on hard surfaces only, limiting where you can use them. Othere can be used in a wide variety of surfaces, these are great for rink warmups, at home use, on the road, or drills before you hit the ice, no skates needed.
Skating Spinners: Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the best size spinner for ice skating practice?
Honestly, it depends on you're training level. If you’re a begginner or adult, you’ll want something a little larger that can fit your whole foot. For more advanced skaters you will want to go with a smaller spinner, where you can balance more on the ball (rocker position) of your foot.
what the weight limit of the spinner?
The Ultimate Plus and the Mini-2.0 can hold up to 500lbs. The Micro can hold up to 200 Lbs.
Can beginners use a figure skating spinner?
Absolutely. As a matter of fact most coaches highly recommend using a spinner to help train muscle memory so new skaters understand basic spin mechanics without needing a rink.
How long should I practice on a spinner each day?
Always check with your coach but most skaters start with 10–15 minutes per day. As you build your skill level, you can gradually increase training time based on comfort.
Do spinners help with jump training too?
Yes absolutly they do. While you can’t fully replicate jumps off-ice, spinners help skaters improve body alignment and air position, which supports better takeoffs and landings.
Can kids use spinners safely?
Yes, with supervision. Larger models are often better for younger skaters. Make sure they're used in a open space to prevent injury.
